I wanted to record the events that occurred when we found out that we were expecting a little one, so here it goes (it's pretty entertaining)!

First, I have to share a testimony of fasting. We all did a big fast when Andrew was getting ready to take his DAT test this summer. I fasted for him, of course, but also for a couple different things as well..... We had been contacting Del Sol hoping to do an internship for the next year before dental school, along with that in the back of my mind I thought/prayed, "and if you really want to, a baby wouldn't be bad either..." This is proof that God knows your thoughts!

Within a week, Andrew did amazingly on his test, we got offered the Del Sol job, and well...you know the rest.

The day I took a pregnancy test went like this:

MaryBeth and I went to Busch Gardens in 100 degree 1000% humidity walked all over the place, rode roller coasters, ate breadsticks, had frozen lemonade. It was awesome. Somewhere randomly in the back of my mind the thought came across that I should probably go get a test to take when I get home, so I did. I got home, took the test, and I think my eyes about popped out. Am I imagining that line? I didn't even know what to say or think, I was just so excited! I sat it on the counter, and went into the bedroom to figure out what to tell Andrew. Of course, I walked out and he was standing right there. "I didn't hear you flush the toilet" he said. I said, "ya.....you should probably go in there and look at something" He did and then said, "Who did you get to pee on that?" He DID NOT even believe me for a long time. I was just laughing knowing I would get to tell this story some day. I told him to go get another test to a. prove it and b. make sure it wasn't a dud test. He brought home like 3 tests and they were all positive!

In his defense, after he believed me he grabbed my face and kissed me so sweetly, he was so excited!

We told our parents the next day, we used an idea we got from Nicole's family. She had just gotten back from a family reunion where all the grandkids wore a number on the shirt depicting the order of grandchild they were (it was like 1-99 or something! ;)) We got a little onsie and put a big #1 on it, taped the pregnancy test under it, and wrapped it up to give to her. Their reaction was awesome, they are so excited for their first grandchild!

I don't know what makes me smile more:

They are both pretty awesome thoughts!

Here is the difference between 7 and 12 weeks:

No baby bump yet, with all the getting sick I've actually lost weight so far. I can't wait until I look pregnant to match how I feel on the inside!

I can't believe it's August, how fast did the summer go? Strangely enough I am ready for fall/winter. Not really, 3 feet of snow, can't drive the car, type winter. Just not super hot non-stop, but comfortable jean wearing, sipping a hot chocolate with hazelnut type of winter.

Key West is hot, humid, and crazy. You see the weirdest things....er...I mean people walking down the street. From the guy who every morning runs with not much else than a sombrero on his body to the chickens, roosters, and chicks over populating the side walks. We are definitely missing our family, and hoping to be able to come visit in a few months. We work every day that a cruise ship is in town (which is most days). Cruise people are so strange, sometimes they are so nice and are really friendly, and sometimes they are just mean! Once the Disney ship starts coming on our route, it is going to be really hard not to stow away! All the girls that we work with at Del Sol and Cariloha are really nice and we are sad that they are leaving us in a few weeks. They are all great girls and we a so bummed we couldn't work with them longer!

The church here is small, but still strong. Last week was the first sunday in the new building and it is quite nice. We have already been asked to speak, but luckily it's not until October, so we have time to prepare. It is interesting to hear all of the ward members stories of how they have joined the church, most of them are converts which is so great.

Andrew is the best husband. Just thought I'd put that out there...

Well, that's what has happened the past few months, and a little preview of what is to come....we have been to blessed to have spent this little amount of time with family and are so thankful to my parents for being our gracious hosts!

Life is crazy.

As long as I have my best friend with me and the love of our family, we know success and happiness will continue. We are grateful for everything we have and continue to receive.

Ok, this is a totally random bunch of stuff. First, look at this cute new duvet cover we got! We bought a nice down duvet before Christmas but never did buy a cover for it until the other day when I came across this one in Ikea! Thank you Andrea for inviting me on that shopping trip!

Second, I sold my hutch, and I am kinda sad that we won't have after tomorrow morning. I was taking out my dishes today and got nostalgic. I had to snap a shot of the hutch so it will forever be remembered!

Also, a couple last minute things for the trip! I compiled all of the information I've been working on the past 4 months and got it bound this morning. All of my info in one place! Flight plans, hotel confirmations, itineraries, metro routes, embassy contact info, etc. I feel very prepared! I also bought a little first aid kit (just in case!) and my friend Trevor (who has helped me immensely with planning the Italian part of the trip) let me borrow his English-Italian dictionary. I plan on reading through french and italian while on my...uuh...8 hour flight to France in 6 days!!!

Ok, I realize it is very pathetic to post about soap. However, look how amazing these are! It's like they were made just to brighten my day! I went into Bath and Body Works to get some hand sanitizer to take on my trip, and stopped dead in my tracks when I saw these. I bought them without even smelling them! I honestly didn't care what they smelt like, but luckily they smell just as amazing. Thank you B&BW for bringing a piece of the beach to my house.

Hi everyone! I actually have something interesting to blog about, a reflection on this article:

I think it's a pretty cool article, mostly positive. However, the comments on this article aren't, they kind of break my heart to read. Commentators are saying, "if their lives look to good to be true, it isn't" and "they are under so much pressure to be perfect all the time because of their church". To this I say: Happiness, it's not too good to be true. Second, I personally feel no pressure to be perfect from the church {or anyone for that matter}.

We live in a time when a woman can be literally anything she wants to be. A career woman, a stay at home mom, or a mix of the two. For those women who are blogging about their stay at home mom lives, staying at home is their job. They create structured activities with their kids, have a craft here or there, and try out new recipes just as any other job has tasks that fill the day. The only difference is that being creative and playing with your kids {and being happy while doing it} is not accepted as a job, but just the opposite: free time.

Yes, of course we are going to blog about mostly the good things in our lives. Not as an attempt to come off as having a picture perfect family, but because these are the things we want to remember. The things we want to reflect on during the bad times as a reminder of happiness. I use my blog as a journal, like many others. I like to look back at things from the very beginning of our marriage because so much has already changed. We like to share things that happen with our family and friends that we don't live close to. Heck, we just like to share!

The pressure and journey to be perfect is not something that is projected from an environment such as family or a religion, but an ever continuing pressure that is inflicted by one's self. It is human nature to constantly compare yourself to others. Am I pretty? Is she prettier than me? How can I be prettier? It's not self absorbed, it's just a natural thought and a strive to improve. {not just looks, education, skills, hobbies, etc.} This is why we get frustrated when we can't knock down 10 pins in bowling, why we haven't gotten a promotion, and our cookies come out burnt every time. WE want to be perfect, to be good at something, and to constantly improve. This is done for ourselves, for our own self-esteem in daily life.

On a religious view of the meaning "perfect", again, there is no pressure from my religion. The Church encourages the reassurance that it is OK not to be perfect. Christ's life isn't meant to be a constant reminder of how we aren't, but as a goal. I find it comforting that there is only one perfect person in this world, and therefor no one should expect me to be perfect. Everyone else other than Christ, {yes everyone, even me and even you!} has flaws. I feel better when I say, "I know I'm doing something wrong, and I know it is wrong, and I don't want to be this way forever. I'm working on it." and my friends, family, and Church understand. Everyone has things they are trying to work on, and we can accept that. No you're not perfect, no I'm not perfect, but we are working on it.

I know this is a jumble of thoughts and a process of me working through my emotions, but I just want you to know, I don't expect anyone to be perfect. Some people I know, do appear to be perfect. My hats are off to you guys {you know how you are!}. I am not trying to give any illusion that I am perfect or that my life is perfect. I have bad days, I have good days. But I want to always remember the good days. I want to try to improve myself. Don't you?

Old Key West for the Holidays

We had such a great time getting out of Utah and "relaxing"* at Disney for Christmas! It was so refreshing to be with family and having no stress. Grandma made sure that no one went hungry and made everyone's favorite foods. It was just so nice! I loved all of the Christmas decorations all over the parks and resorts. We even got a chance to go to the Orlando Temple to participate in some family work there. Such a great experience, and I was so glad to be able to go to that temple, since I had always dreamed of it! Temple + Palm Trees = Heaven. Thank you mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, and everyone else for creating such amazing memories with us!

*not so relaxing because when you're at disney you want to wake up and go to parks, and then stay up for extra magic hours until 3 am! You just can't pass up a chance to enjoy the rides with no lines what so ever!

OK. I'm going to try to start blogging more, I went through and looked at my posts from when I started my blog a few years ago and I had totally forgotten all of those little fun things! I am trying to use this as a journal now, so hopefully I can keep it up! Even if they are stupid little posts, I will appreciate them in the future!

So, I have started trying to craft on a normal basis. This is my latest one, that my friend Heidi gave me the inspiration for! And the flower was her design! I think these will be so cute for this summer! Love them!

Some snacks I made while Andrew was out of town for work, I think they look good! I like the berries one the best! I've always wanted to try to make a cute cake, I don't think this will be a new business venture, but it makes me want to have some parties so I can try new things! Lets see, photography (check), sewing (check), cake decorating (checkish).....what should I try next? Oh the life of a graduate.

Wow! So 200 posts, not too bad. I would count myself as a moderate blogger! I wanted to save the 200th for something awesome, and here it is: GRADUATION! I graduate officially on the 12th, walking on the 13th. I am so excited and pretty proud of myself! Now all I have to do is get a great job and I'll be all set.

A few stats after taking 120 college credit hours:

I still don't know how to use the library

I have written at least 112 papers (what I could find in my "school" folder on my desktop)

I still look like a freshman

I only truly enjoyed about 3 of my 50 classes that I took

I refuse to pay 1.50 for a little thing of milk from the vending machine when I could get a whole gallon at walmart for less, however I will buy a candy bar for a dollar when I can get two for that at walmart

I have made at least one good friend in almost all of my classes (usually the girl that sits next to me every day)

Probably more than half of my friends on facebook are from BYU

The Alumni Assoc. are crazy! They called me TODAY (3 days before I graduate) to ask for a donation, I told them I don't have a job yet, I've been paying them for four years and I'm still paying them for my husband, and no I will not donate right now. They should wait at least 10 years after you graduate to ask for that!

If you skip class you are inevitably going to either a. run into your husband b. run into your brother or c. your mom will call you

and

....I suck at stats (this is very true!)

So these are the true college essentials I have found to be extremely useful.

First and foremost, a laptop. Not any laptop, a MAC. Come on, give it up MAC users! It has NEVER crashed on me and the battery is still amazing after years of continual use!

Flash drive. This was a present from my uncle Brian and aunt Natalia when I was first begun my college career. I didn't know what I was going to use it for, but now I am extremely thankful for it! I don't think we've bought ink for our printer in over a year because it's cheaper and easier to put our assignments on this and print at school. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Student ID. This is where you put $$$ to print homework, buy a snack (chocolate covered cinnamon bears...), or whatever. You use it to take tests (yay...) and look like a legit college student.

Vera tote. Now I am noticing in this picture that I have a pink computer, pink flash drive, pink purse, and a pink pen and pencil in the purse. The pencil and pen is an accident, I think just a coincidence because Andrew takes all non-pink writing utensils. This fits my computer, a book, and a notebook, cell phone, etc...pretty much all you need!

And most lastly, books. Seriously, books are SUCH a waste of money, especially when you can't sell them back, and when your teacher NEVER uses them or refers to them! This is just a few of the lucky ones I'm stuck with forever.

Well, I hope you all enjoyed looking back at college stuff or got a nice preview of where you or your kids are going into! It's been a crazy ride, glad I took it, but I'm sure glad to be getting off!

I taught my sister than when you're in college YOU are paying the teachers so, you show up when you want, leave when you want, and wear what you want (as long as it's modest ;) )

So I have neglected blogging, but I have my reasons! School, photography, family, love, life, etc. But here are some pics I took of my latest hobby for when I have random spouts of free time. I'm trying to figure out how make make purses, aprons, and whatever else. The hardest part is cutting the fabrics, they are just so pretty I just want to frame them! I was all set to post these lovely blossoms and talk about the nice warm, but not too hot, weather. Well, it sure showed me. It just snowed an inch in 30 mins and it's still going! So as I sit here using the internet in the math building (our internet isn't hooked up yet in our new place), dropped off to school 2 hours early as Andrew had to be taking his DAT at 9 am in Lindon and we live too far to walk to school (seriously), I'm catching up my stalking and watching the snow fall in disbelief. Well, have a look at these blossoms anyway and send that Williamsburg weather my way!

A week or two ago we went to the Provo Temple for a picnic FHE. It was the first day I was able to wear flip flips, so we were going outside! I packed a dinner of orange chicken, a baguette, grapes, and pink lemonade. I was so much fun just laying around on the grass (well a blanket) on temple grounds enjoying the warmth. Yesterday it was in the 60s, today it's in the 30s and snowing! Tomorrow is April, come on, please don't snow on my birthday!

Andrew turned 24 today! He is getting so old! I commented that he'll be in his 30's three years longer than me, and he corrected me that he'll be in his 30's for three years before me, not longer. It's March and its been a while since I posted any pics of us, so here we go! I am so excited, there are only 26 school days left of this semester. Then, we get to go on a special "end of the semester/ anniversary" getaway! Andrew's birthday is this week, we are going to the Brian Regan show, and then in two weeks its my birthday! I love the end of winter semesters...it's the best because of everything that is going on it goes by so fast! AND it's 51 degrees outside! I wore flip flops to school today and it was amazing! Warm weather, please please please stay!

So, I've been itching for a dresser for our closet, but reluctant to pay big bucks for one. I have been looking for good deals on craiglist and ksl, and I found one for $5! I sanded it (with a little elbow grease from my husband), painted it, cleaned it, lined the drawers, and added new hardware. I know I should have taken a picture of it before so I could have a before and after post, but the after will just have to work. Here it is! (it was really bad before! hahaha)

is amazing! He got me tickets to see Brian Regan for Christmas! He is a hilarious comedian and is very clean which makes him great! It was so sweet of him, and he knew that was what I wanted to get him for his birthday present! The show we are going to is March 12, the day after his birthday. He had a big ticket he printed wrapped up in a box, it had the show date, time, and place. Then, in small print beneath it said:

"This ticket is good for you and a friend to see Brian Regan!! However, FYI, your wonderful husband is free that night and would totally be willing to go with you. To give you additional incentive to take him, he promises to take you out to dinner before the show."

What a doll.

This Christmas break has been amazing. There is nothing better in the world than being with your family, especially during the holiday season. I love going back to Virginia, it's the "real world", whereas Provo is "student, you're still not quite a real adult until you graduate" world. During down time this break I just laid on the couch in front of the fire, thinking about how grateful I am for many things. I'm grateful for my home, my parents have made it full of love and a shelter from the world. The minute I walk through the door I can't help but breathe a sigh of relief (and not just because my parents heat their house while we light a candle for heat!). I'm so grateful for my parents. They do so much for Andrew and I, not necessarily materially, but emotionally. They are always there giving us support, love, and encouragement. My parents aren't just parents, they're our best and most loyal friends.

I'm grateful for the life Andrew and I lead. I have resolved never to complain about our one bedroom apartment, because really, what would we do with more space? I don't want to complain about my work or Andrew coming home later than he should from his job because it is a blessing that we can work and sustain ourselves. However hard it may be to say, I'm grateful for the security I have going to school and living in Provo. I'm grateful for the people I am surrounded by and the safety I feel at school. I'm sure our lives would be very different (and will be when we are in dental school) if we weren't at BYU. I am grateful for the Temple and the blessings that are readily available for us there. I am most grateful for the sealing power that binds Andrew and I together for time and all eternity.

Which brings me to Andrew. He is the most perfect husband for me. He understands how comfort me, to make me laugh, and to love me. He knew how I'd be feeling yesterday morning when I woke up, knowing we were going to get on an airplane to go back to Utah. He just held me, and continued to hug me throughout the day. I tried so hard not to cry, but how can you not when your dad comes to tell you goodbye before he goes to work, or when you get out of the car and see all your younger siblings watching you leave and your mom crying. When you are 2,216 miles from home, and all you have to rely on is your spouse and Heavenly Father for comfort, it is really easy to be humbled and see the many blessing you have. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year too. What are your resolutions?

Thank you mom & dad. For bringing us home for the holidays, for your love, your example, and everything else you do.

As my dad so kindly put it! I was so excited today in sacrament meeting when I found this out, Andrew had to muffle my excitement. So, with our tithing settlement sheet came two sheets with Andrew and mine's church information. It showed when I was sealed to my parents, baptized, endowed, and married. I know the last three dates easily, especially my baptism because it was my birthday (April 1), but check the rest out:

Sealed to my parents : 24 April (1992)

Endowed: 25 April (2008)

Married: 26 April (2008)

This will now and forever be known as my celestial week, as I told my dad, I expect presents!

Can be so much fun sometimes! I had a bridal shoot today, and you would never be able to tell by the pictures that it was below 30 degrees! The bride was beautiful, and pretended to be warm the whole time! I can't wait to go through them all, I'm actually pretty excited to edit these! I also want to get them finished before the wedding I have next week, and oh ya, finals!

I am so thankful that Andrew, Chuck, and I were able to go back to Virginia for Thanksgiving! It was so great to spend time with our family and close friends.

I got to watch Andrew and Andrew (my brother and my husband) play in the Turkey Bowl Thanksgiving morning. We ate a ton, mom did a great job with dinner, and Nicole's rolls were beast as always! Anna pulled her tooth out right in front of me, which made me kind of sick, but it's all good because I love her. We learned how to play an awesome new game, Mafia, with some great friends and I am dying to play it again! Andrew drug me, mom, and MaryBeth out at midnight for black friday shopping. It was all good until at about 1 am it started pouring rain! I was totally satisfied with our boot find, buy one pair get two free! (sweet I know!)

Mom took us all shopping for some new clothes which we are in much need for. I think I have almost cycled through and passed down all my clothes from high school to MaryBeth. Saturday night we all went to Buffalo Wild Wings where practically every mormon in Williamsburg showed up for the BYU vs Utah game. BYU won, of course!

My favorite time was playing scum and eating M&Ms with the family though. Surprisingly, mom never became the scummie! It was a long weekend packed full of fun, it went by way too fast, broke my heart to leave, but I would do it all over again. Now, I have forgotten all my french, am dreading the tests and projects I have due before finals, but before I know it we'll be in Virginia again!

Today Chuck and I dropped off Jake McClain at the MTC. He's going on his mission to Columbia, not sure which mission though. He was very relaxed, which surprised me because if that were me, I'd be freaking out! Of why I love Andrew. He consistently eats the same thing for breakfast: small cup of orang juice, toasted bagel with cream cheese, various piece of fruit, and yogurt. Well, I noticed a little pink piece of foil on top of the microwave. It was a yogurt top for the breast cancer foundation. I asked him about it and he said he planned on sending it in because the company would donate 10 cents for each top. I kinda brushed it off, he is sometimes forgetful, good hearted but forgetful. Today I noticed it had really started piling up! He is such a sweet man, he loves helping other people even in the smallest ways. I love him, and this is just one more reason!

I love CW. My mom and I spent 2 hours down there exploring before I went to the airport last week. I just love everything about the revolution of our great country. The men who were brave enough to stand up for what they knew was right are the reason why we all live such amazingly free lives today.

I love this picture, and I can think of a profound caption for it, indulge me.

The example of our founding fathers is the key to our future.

These men were inspired divinely when setting the guidelines for our country, men now a days, I'm not so sure about. Some things just need to be left alone and not tampered with.

Well, I have two finals today (D&C and to present my conference paper for advanced english), need to be at work by 5, then take my STAT final (ugh can you feel my pain?) before I have a 2:30 flight to Houston! Friday I am doing a wedding down there and I am so excited and of course a bit nervous as well. Then Saturday I will be flying to Hilton Head to spend some quality time with our family! Both Andrew and I are so excited to get down there (Andrew mainly to play some golf!). I just can't wait to be with family again, living a couple thousand miles away is kind of depressing, only two more years is what I keep telling myself!

I got my wall vinyl today! We love it! At least I do, I'm not sure how much a man can love wall vinyl. And I got my rental lens and flash that I'll be taking to Texas, so I took a picture of my favorite subject to practice!

OH my goodness, best concert ever. Ok, the concert wasn't the best, the two opening acts were kind of bad. Yet, when Kenny came out it made it all worth while! He sang all my favorites, I really almost cried I was so excited. The best part of course was dancing with my sweetheart the whole night! Fast on fast songs and sloooow on slow songs. I absolutely loved it!

Is it sad that I'm obsessed with the fleur de lis? I'm pretty much just obsessed with all things France, which is sad because I have never been! Unless you count the 3 x 3 miles in Saint Marten that France owns. I just love it all. I can't wait to go someday, it is a major goal in life! I'm even excited about re-taking french in the fall, I haven't taken in since my sophmore year in high school. Next time I have some spare change I want to get a necklace like these ones I found on etsy. And you better believe there will be some french decor in my future home. Oh, l'amour!

Since Andrew left on his mission to Arcadia, California! Friday, July 10th was his 2 year anniversary from being home! Those were probably the longest two years of my life. Every time at work Friday I wrote "July 10" I kept thinking, "that's when Andrew got home!!!" That was one of the best days of my life! Here are some pictures, the first is at the airport when he was leaving to go to the MTC.......and the rest you can assume are when he was a missionary! He is the best husband, and I know it is partly because of the wonderful experiences he had in the field. He is so so so spiritual it puts me to shame, but he makes me a better person. Who knew two years ago when he got back from his mission that he'd be in the bishopric today? Crazy crazy life!

Charles Howard Richards

Since his birth there have been three more, my grandfather, my dad, and my brother. He is a family legacy. He was visiting my family this week, and I got a strong impression so ask Nicole to take some shots of him so we can have some beautiful portraits to remember him by. He had a close call last year, and I just don't know how much longer he'll be here. I'm hoping he can last a few more years so he can hold his first great-great-grand child, but we'll just have to see.

Of the shots I've seen so far, this is my favorite. I have to admit I'm a sucker for details, but this one just speaks to me.

His hands. Just think about the the almost 100 years he's been alive, and all those hands have been through. Those hands served our country in World War 2, they held the love of his life my great grandmother MaryBeth's hands, they held my dad's hand as he was a child, and so much more.

Even though he was sad he wasn't able to witness Andrew and I being sealed, he supported our decision and was there to hold my hand that day as well. He is an amazing man, with so much life experience. He'll always be remembered as singing, "A pretty girl is like a melody" and "Little boy with a baseball bat" and we don't know the rest of either of those songs. The baseball caps he loves to wear, his wedding band he won't remove even after his love passed over 10 years ago, and his Navy tattoo that he regrets getting now almost 80 years later. We'll all also remember his fear of Mexico, but that's a long story.

We all love you Papa! Thank you for being such an amazing man.

That was too short of a vacation, but totally worth it! We got to Vegas around noon (vegas time, I always forget there's a time difference) got to our suite, and it was just like the pictures! Luxurious! The bed was HUGE and sooo comfortable. I told my mom " it was so big, I didn't even touch Andrew all night!" which she said, "that's not good.." but I just meant I roll around A TON and always seem to smack Andrew. It was probably good for him too. Can I just say, when I have my real house, we are having a TV in the bathroom. I loved that perk! So we settled in, snacked, went out to the pool in their big comfy soft lounge chairs, and sweated. It was incredibly hot! After that we showered, went to Caesar's Palace, ate, shopped, watched the fountains at the Bellagio, and headed back. I promptly fell asleep after getting into my complimentary robe and flicked on "rebels and red coats" on PBS. That knocked me out.

Today we got up, watched a little "Family Feud" before we checked outta our suite, then went to the M&M and COCA COLA stores. Sadly we had to make our way back to Provo for a bon fire activity for church. It was great to get out of Utah for a day and a half.

I would recommend Vegas to everyone, at least day time Vegas. At night they have people flicking little cards with naked women on them at you. Ally said she was lucky because they'd try to give them to Derek, then see she was pregnant and stop. She was lucky! Hello! He's holding his wife's hand! He doesn't want "girls direct" to him! So, stay in the light!

So this is the last week before I start school again. I had to do something! I have 3 days off of work at the end of the week, so we're going down to VEGAS with another couple we're really good friends with. I am so excited. Sun, Sun, SUN is what I'm looking forward to, it's been insanely dark and cloudy and rainy the past two weeks. Oh, and did I mention we're staying at the world famous VENETIAN resort? Ya, I'm pretty excited about that too! So, Thursday and Friday this week, this is where I'll be! Can't wait!

Andrew had a company get together yesterday. They had a taco bar, then played softball. Right at the end of the game, he hit the ball nice low and deep into the left outfield. We all knew it was coming, a home run! As he rounded 3rd, the outfielders had regrouped and were throwing the ball home faster than we thought they would. There was only one thing he HAD to do. Slide into home. You guessed it. He was safe.

Luckily he has me to bandage him up!

You're lucky aren't you babe? hm... Well, I also gave him a hair cut last week, does it look too bad? It was my first time ever giving a haircut. At least there aren't bald pieces all over his head!

So, I needed some type of change to our apartment, I can't believe we've been here for almost a year! I saw some sweet pillows at TJ Max but they were $20 each. Sadly, that's not in our budget at the moment. Instead of buying new pillows my friend took me up to this amazing store in South Jordan that had the cutest fabrics. I LOVE cute fabric, I felt like buying it all. But, I only bought what I needed to cover 5 pillows in the living room. I re-covered 5 pillows for the price of $17, pretty thrifty huh? I have two complete, but the sewing machine we were using broke, I'll post more pics when they're all finished. Meanwhile here are the two finished, and the other two patterns I got.

PS- can you guess which one is my favorite fabric?

Here are a random assortment of pictures I like from our cruise! We all had so much fun and loved every minute of it. From the amazing food (for sure one of Andrew's top faves) to our family dominating karaoke night, it was a blast! I would recommend everyone to do the Disney cruise, it has no comparison to any other cruise. This was top quality. We are planning our next one right now, right mom?! We had 15 family members there, it was awesome. I even got a bit of sun which is had for me! One of my favorite things was going to the spa with mom and gma. I was treated to 8 spa treatments. Can you relax and say, "ah"? Mom fell asleep during her massages. We pretty much ruled the spa too, going about every other day! I just love being with family, it by far is the best aspect of vacationing. It doesn't really matter where you are, as long as you're with family you can have the time of your life.

Sun, sand, pina colodas, and family. That's what it's all about!

One year down..

...an eternity to go! I can't believe it is our one year wedding anniversary! It flew by! We have had so many amazing times and have created great memories and we have no regret what so ever that we got married. We are the happiest couple there is. We are so grateful to have each other for all time and eternity, and it's hard to imagine life is going to keep getting better than it is. Andrew is the best husband, he is so sweet, loving, caring, funny, smart....etc! There are too many wonderful qualities he has, and I know I don't deserve such a wonderful man but I am grateful I got him! I love you sweetheart!

We leave Tuesday very early to start our celebration down in Orlando, and Saturday we board the Disney Cruise with my whole family, with some add ons. My grandparents, uncle, and uncle on my dad's side and his family are going too! We are going to have a blast! I will be out of touch with my computer for 2 weeks! I don't think that's ever happened, but I can't wait to post all the pics I take on our wonderful vacation!

Thank you to all of our family and friends who are part of our lives, you truly help us be who we are today and help our love grow stronger!

Oh! Andrew got me an amazing anniversary present! Tickets to see Kenny Chesney in concert in July! He is so thoughtful I've been dying for years to see him! Funny story is that I was at the bank last week changing my last name on my account (it only took me a year to do!) and noticed a huge (in our eyes) charge I had no idea where it came from and started worrying. The teller asked if my husband could have spent the money and I told her no way would Andrew spend that much money on something! So we had plans on hunting down the identity theft, and I told Andrew when we got home about it. He started laughing and said it wasn't an accident but a present and he can't ever surprise me! I was so relieved our account wasn't in danger. That's one thing I love about him, he catches me off guard at the most random times, it keeps me on my toes!

Ok, so now a little more (this is the longest post ever!). We went up to visit my cousin Robby, who turned 12 today! I felt so bad last year he had to fly all the way to VA on his birthday just to watch me get all the attention and presents! He is sweet though and it didn't bother him. So here are pics of him, and my other cousins (Robby's siblings), plus my grandpa who flew out for the occasion! Also, what the top layer of our wedding cake looks like after being frozen a year, flow out to Utah by my dad, melted, and refrozen again! Oh, traditions!

Andrew thought this was "cute" but he'd have to ruin them if he needed more tp....I informed him there were "usable" tp rolls under the sink.

We spent New Years Eve at my grandparents house in Haymarket. It was a lot of fun, my family, Andrew's family, and the Pugh family. 2008 was a wonderful year, I was able to get married to my best friend, we spent an adventurous summer on a remote Caribbean island, we tackled moving into our first little apartment and furnished/decorated it, we got to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with our family, and had so many wonderful memories as newlyweds. 2009 looks to be a promising year. We're heading back to Utah to finish another semester at the Y and are so looking forward to going on the Disney Cruise once school is out. I'm photographing a wedding in April, taking online classes in the Spring and then Andrew and I will both be taking Summer classes (for Andrew to catch up from his mission, and me to speed up the graduating process). This will be a Utah summer! School is much more enjoyable knowing you won't be slipping on ice or freezing in the snow on the way to school/class. I hope everyone had a great 2008, and are planning to make 2009 amazing!

I am finally done with dang finals! They are so stressful, and you'd think when you're finished you'd be relieved. This is not true however because you now have to worry about the grades you haven't gotten back yet (like papers, presentations, written finals), and feel the remorse and disappointment when you thought you did great on a test but ended up not doing so well. That is the hardest part, it's easy to accept a grade when you knew you had no idea what you were doing on a test, but when you felt like you knew almost every answer, that's when it stings!

Something else that stings is finding out your life isn't as planned as you thought it was! I have had every class scheduled and planned for every semester I'm going to school so I knew exactly when I was graduating. Well, Chuck pointed out that you have to have at least 120 hours to graduate, which didn't bother me at first. I had all my generals planned out, all religion requirements, and all my major classes scheduled! Of course that was 120 hours...not!

Holy cow, I about died when I found out it wasn't! How could you have a major where the requirements didn't help fill the hour void needed to graduate! I just wanted to drop outta school right then and there. I went down to my college advisement center to see what was going on. Apparently I needed to choose a minor as well, thanks for telling me! So, ladies and gentlemen, in April 2010 it is predicted that I receive my BS in Geography emphasizing in Tourism and my

Minor in Communications. Only time will tell! Wish me luck!

Also, we are coming to Virginia tomorrow!!! I am so excited, it's been snowing a bit lately and I'm sick of it! Can't wait to see everyone! Merry Christmas! The Lights

Andrew and I went up to SLC this weekend and met up with our friends Derek and Ally. We went up a bit early to meet up with Leah and her family for a little while. Then went we got together with D&A and saw the "Body Worlds" exhibit, which was gross, yet interesting at the same time (I think my biologist brother, Aaron, would spend hours looking around in there!). Then we drove around for about a half hour trying to find parking to walk around to see the lights in Temple Square. It was beautiful! At one point I felt some tapping on my back, and I thought it was Andrew, until I realized he was in front of me, then I got weirded out! Thankfully it was Leah! What are the chances we'd run into each other with the hundreds of people there!

This is Derek and Ally (they found out this morning they're cooking a little something if ya know what I mean ;)! )

And this is my husband, he is absolutely crazy and I love it!

And here he is redeeming himself with his usual better looking than any model self! I am so lucky!

First Christmas

As a married couple! We got a tree....it's a baby! But it's the right size for to have for the next week and a half until we go back to Virginia!

As a side note, I got my first wedding contract in the mail signed by the bride's mother for a wedding photo-shoot in SLC in April, I am so excited!

Thanksgiving Break

This break from school was amazing. I hate living so far away from my family and from Virginia! Luckily I only have to suck it up for two more years until Andrew goes to dental school (hopefully) back east!

I am Thankful

So before I get home and am so busy having a blast with family and friends I wanted to sit down and write out just a few things I am thankful for. Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!

I am thankful for:

My wonderful Husband who takes care of me and loves me to no end, he is so thoughtful and loving

My parents that love me even though I am crazy, I love their sense of humor, my family is never dull

My faith, I never feel weak or alone because I know who I am, where I came from, and where I'm going

My country and especially those who serve to protect my country and preserve my freedom

Flowers, they're so beautiful, all of nature is just gorgeous and peaceful

Cheap gas, I no longer feel like dying after filling up the Jeep

Federal grants that help pay for tuition, "grant", what a great word, so much better than "loan"

My siblings, they're hilarious and always make me smile

Chocolate, the perfect thing to help celebrate, relieve stress, or give me a boost of energy

Our little apartment, it's not luxurious, but it's our home

And lately, space heaters.....enough said!

So I had a photo-shoot today thanks for a referral from a good old friend Missy (http://missyandmicah.blogspot.com/). The couple was so much fun and they were very goofy! One of the most fun things about taking pictures is the adventure of getting a good background, we "trespassed" to get a great shot with a bright blue house, it was great! I'll work on them on Monday, but I wanted to give a huge THANKS to Missy! Thank you!
